Albany Downtown High School Board Member Opportunity

The Albany Downtown Association is seeking applications for a youth member of our Board of Directors. We are looking for a dedicated, insightful and creative individual from one of our three Albany high schools to serve a seven-month term (Nov 2024-May 2025) with full board responsibilities and voting privileges.

Board meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from 8:30 to 9:30 am in Downtown Albany. All board members serve on a committee (Design, Economic Vitality, Outreach or Promotion). Committee monthly meeting dates and times are provided in the application packet.  Applicants must be in good standing with their school and complete an application and an interview, as deemed necessary.

Applications Deadline:                Wednesday, October 23, 2024

Application Review:                      Thursday, October 24, 2024

Interviews, as needed:                 Week of October 28- Nov 1, 2024

Selection Announcement:         Monday, Nov 4, 2024

1st Meeting/Board Approval:     Thursday, November 14, 2024

Final Board Meeting:                  Thursday, May 8, 2024 (option to extend if the student is available)

Main Street America leads an inclusive, impact-driven movement dedicated to reenergizing and strengthening older and historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts nationwide.
