Who We Are

Downtown Albany boasts historic buildings filled with shopping, dining, and professional services for everyone. Come Downtown and take a stroll. Be sure to stop by the Albany Downtown Association’s office at 126 Ferry Street SW and get recommendations for upcoming activities, points of interest, or learn about some of the history that surrounds you.

The town of Albany developed on the Willamette River, with steamboats bringing commerce to a thriving waterfront. Today Downtown Albany is designated a National Register Historic District and includes many historic buildings in a variety of architectural styles, dating to the late 1800’s. As a city, we pride ourselves on historic preservation and our commitment to responsible development in Downtown. The Downtown remains the civic, commercial and social center of Albany. We invite you to enjoy the dining, shopping and entertainment Downtown has to offer.

Take it a step further and look for a place to stay for a weekend, make your new home a loft or relocate your business. Downtown is a great place to EAT, SHOP, PLAY and also visit, live and do business.
