Crazy Daze, Downtown Albany’s oldest event, has been held for 125 years. Originally called Bargain Days in 1898, the name was changed to Crazy Daze after WWII. It’s been a crazy fun sidewalk sale and event ever since.
This year’s fun starts on Thursday, July 6, and continues through the weekend. Traditionally a three-day event, some stores are open on Sundays and will continue their Crazy Daze sales an extra day. Merchandise changes daily, so make sure to come Downtown all four days.
Each year shopkeepers set out their merchandise on the sidewalks in Downtown, offering items at crazy reduced prices. Thursday kicks off the street and sidewalk sales. Friday, enjoy fun, sales and music during 1st Friday in Historic Downtown Albany. The Eagles have a band going past midnight.
On Saturday, sales continue. In the afternoon, there’s a car show and live bands in the street at the “Christmas in July” Toy Run event hosted by the Albany Eagles.
Sunday, select businesses and restaurants have a 4th sale day. So, grab your sunscreen or a hat and stroll our sidewalks for crazy deals and crazy delicious food in a cozy café or under the umbrellas at our fabulous Downtown eateries!
