Enjoy some of Albany’s wonderful homes and historic buildings – from the inside – on the 45th Summer Tour of Homes from 11 am to 5 pm Saturday, July 27.
Here are some of the highlights:
• Tour several privately owned historic homes and the Cumberland Church project.
• Catch the trolley at the Albany Visitors Association, 122 Ferry St. SW, or at one of the homes on the tour as it makes a stop. Drive, walk, or bike the tour on your own. The horse-drawn wagon will be available on a limited route. • Make stops at the Albany Regional Museum, the Monteith House Museum and some of Albany’s historic churches, including United Presbyterian Church and Whitespires Church. • Enjoy light refreshments, which will be provided at one of the homes on tour.
Albany’s Interior Tour of Historic Homes was created by a group of friends and neighbors to share the past through the architecture of historic dwellings. They are coordinated by Albany’s Historic Interior Home Tour Committee and sponsored by the Monteith Historical Society.
Admission is $15 per person, and tickets can be purchased online at www.monteithhouse.org and albanyvisitors.com from July 1 until 5 pm on Friday, July 26. To receive a copy of the tour map and wristband, bring your e-ticket to the Albany Visitors Association office at 122 Ferry St. SW on the day of the tour. In-person ticket sales will also be available at the AVA office on the day of the tour.
Proceeds from Albany’s Interior Tour of Historic Homes benefit the Monteith House Museum.
