The 3rd Annual Albany Downtown Association Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards will be held on Monday, September 16 from 5 to 7 pm.
In 2018, our winners were The Natty Dresser, Business Of The Year; Downtown Waffle, New Business of The Year; 3 Sheets Brewery & Taproom, Best Interior Renovation; AK Carpets, Best Facade over $7500; Christina Knowles, Board Member of the Year; and Downtown Welcome Brochure, Best Economic Vitality Project.
Christina Knowles and the ADA Welcome Guide went on to win Oregon Main Street statewide Revitalization Awards.
Again this year, we asked ADA members to nominate Downtown businesses in two categories: Business of the Year and New Business of the Year. Here are the top three nominees (in alphabetical order):
Business Of The Year
· Albany Civic Theater
· Gallery Calapooia
· Sweet Red Bistro
New Business of The Year
· Margin Coffee
· Sniffany’s Pet Boutique
· Urban Ag Supply
The winners of these categories along with three others selected by the ADA committees will be announced at our September member and friends event.
The other 2019 award categories are:
· Best Upstairs Renovation
· Best Historic Preservation Project
· Best Downtown Event
All five ADA Revitalization Awards winners will be considered by Oregon Main Street for the Oregon Excellence in Downtown Revitalization Awards to be presented at the Oregon Main Street Conference in Tillamook on October 2.
To be eligible, businesses must be within the Downtown Main Street District. At the ADA awards, we will also recognize Xtreme Graphix, a wonderful member nominated for Business of the Year but not eligible due to geography.
The event will also serve as the Albany Downtown Association’s Member Mixer and will be held at St. John’s Lodge (Masonic Building), 431 1st Ave W. The event is upstairs and is accessed via the elevator and stairs in Eclectic Zebra.
Award attendees will enjoy a selection of tasty appetizers and local wine, beer, cider and sparkling water plus some great door prizes
The event is free, but space is limited. Please RSVP by calling (541) 928-2469 or emailing [email protected]
