It’s time for the
Albany Visitors Association’s
annual photography contest.
The purpose of this contest is to find images suitable for use in the marketing program for Albany, Linn County and the Willamette Valley.
“It’s a terrific opportunity to share your work with millions of visitors across the US and the rest of the world, says Rebecca Bond, AVA’s Executive Director.
AVA asks that your work specifically feature life in Albany and surrounding Linn County as those are what are most commonly used in their publications, advertisements and social media.
Think of images that visitors might like to see — people enjoying themselves outdoors, fantastic food and drink events, hiking, biking, paddling and the beauty and majesty of Albany’s historic architecture.
“We can never get enough action shots of people out and about,” added Bond. “So think about staging something with friends; just make sure you get permission and a signed release form for any recognizable people in your work.”
Forms are available at the AVA office.
The contest categories are scenic, landmarks, events, people, historic Albany and culinary, plus a student category for young photographers ages 18 and under.
The cost to enter is $2 per photograph with free entries for youth.
The deadline to submit photos is Friday, Feb. 10 at 5 pm. Voting for the People’s Choice Award begins on February 16, 2023.
Go to the AVA’s website to vote for your favorite photograph.
