Many of the iconic downtown traditions we love today might not exist without the creativity and dedication of Julie Jackson. From our hanging flower baskets and Movies by Moonlight to holiday snowflakes and the Downtown Twice around Christmas Parade, we can thank Julie for starting programs that continue to brighten our lives.
Julie first volunteered at the Albany Downtown Association while working at the Albany Visitors Association in the late ‘90s. From 2000-2007, she served as ADA’s Executive Director. Julie made the ADA more visible moving us to a ground floor location and facilitated passing the first EID as a continued funding source.
Julie currently serves as Secretary on ADA’s Board of Directors and is co-chair of the Promotion Committee. Her ideas and energy continue to make Downtown an even better place to Eat Shop Play.
Thank you, Julie, for making Downtown Albany the place we all love.
