As the days get cold with a touch of frost, it feels like Christmas in Historic Downtown Albany.
Downtown business have brought in a fantastic assortment of gift and holiday items this year. Make sure you take time to stroll past all the stores and enjoy our Snowflakes and holiday lights. Settle in for a warm meal at any one of our locally owned Downtown restaurants, bakeries and cafes, then round out your day with a hot toddy, festive cocktail or holiday brew at a bistro or local tap house
Our Downtown Free Holiday Movie is coming up Saturday, December 9 at The Pix Theatre. This year we are showing the Holiday classic, White Christmas staring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Elle. The doors open at 9:30 am. The movie will start 10 am. We recommend you arrive early, especially of you have a large group, as seating is limited.
Each year, guests are asked to bring non-perishable food items. This year we are partnering with the Salvation Army, so look for the big blue barrel in the theater lobby when you arrive.
We’ll have more Christmas fun on Saturday, December 16 with Santa Downtown! Santa will be visiting Downtown Albany from 9 am-1 pm. You can snap a photo or selfie with Santa as you enjoy the unique offerings of our local restaurants and businesses. Check out our website or Facebook for locations.
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
