To achieve our objectives, Albany Downtown Association is a partnership between a full-time executive director, a board of directors, staff, volunteer committees, community leaders, business owners, property owners, Downtown employees and Albany residents.
Our Committees and the Four-Point Approach
Utilizing the National Main Street Center’s Four-Point Approach®, the Albany Downtown Association organizes and maintains a vibrant Downtown district.
The Main Street Four-Point Approach® is a unique preservation-based economic development tool that enables communities to revitalize Downtown and neighborhood business districts by leveraging local assets – from historic, cultural, and architectural resources to local enterprises and community pride. It is a comprehensive strategy that addresses the variety of issues and problems that challenge traditional commercial districts.

This committee works to beautify Downtown with hanging flower baskets, pole banners, holiday snowflakes and our amazing Community Christmas Tree. They organize Downtown cleanups, plant flowers and provide the Downtown Parklets. In partnership with the Scouts, nearly 100 American flags are displayed in Downtown 13 times a year.

This committee works with entrepreneurs and business owners to open or relocate in Downtown. We also advise businesses looking for space to rent and provide information on Oregon Main Street programs and grants, and provide contacts with appropriate City departments. Seminars are offered to member businesses to add skills and improve their bottom line.
Meets: 1st Wednesday Noon
This committee works with volunteers and the community. They plan 1st Friday activities and our fundraisers. They oversee communications with business and property owners, employees and the public through our website and other channels. They update policies and work with our Treasurer to plan the budget for the fiscal year.

This committee markets the Downtown and organizes activities designed to draw visitors and locals to Downtown. Their major events are Restaurant Week, Crazy Daze, Movies at Monteith, Downtown Trick or Treat, Downtown Unwrapped and the Downtown Twice Around Christmas Parade. We partner with other organizations on Albany Taps & Caps, Rotary Wine Walk, Summer Passport Program, Craft Brew Smackdown, Linn Co. Veterans Parade, Veterans Banner Program and more.
