On February 27th, Karen Novak arrived Downtown to open her family’s restaurant and billows of black smoke came out the back door.
The fast response of the Albany Fire Department along with firefighters from Corvallis, Tangent, Philomath, and Jefferson prevented the loss of the Novak’s Hungarian Restaurant building. This devastating event will keep the restaurant from operating for an undetermined period of time.
The Novak Family is most worried about their staff’s lost wages. To help, a fundraiser dinner is planned for Sunday, March 10th featuring courses from numerous Downtown restaurants. The event will be held at the Albany Senior Center starting at 5 pm.
Tickets are $50 presale only and are available through the link below.
